All over Scotland mainly, it has the best diving in the UK and some of the best in the world. We also run trips abroad to places such as Malta, Egypt, the Caribbean and more! And we go up to the wrecks of Scapa Flow and Seal Reef almost every year. As a member, you can speak to our diving officer about running trips to anywhere you'd like!
Yes- as part of our new member "check-out" trips you will be given a drysuit lesson in the tranquil and refreshing Scottish waters.
Of course yuo can dive with us! All diver qualified with PADI or other organizations become BSAC divers for just the cost of a day trip to complete your qualifying "check-out" dive.
Two world wars and such a defined maritime history means the Scottish coastline is teeming with some of the world's greatest wrecks (e.g. Scapa Flow, Sound of Mull), which people travel from all over the globe to dive for good reason, they are simply breath-taking and unique wrecks. Also join us to swim with seals or spot firework anemones. There's loads to see!
Of course! People with experience are very valuable, and we get a few, but mainly we get people new to diving and were happy to facilitate training people up to any level of diving. Secure your membership at Sub-Aqua (Scuba Diving)
Great news! It'll always be above 0 degrees... so thats a plus. You'll always have the right kit to keep you warm, and it's definitely worth the occasional numb fingers. Plus the things you'll be seeing are so interesting you'll hardly notice the cold.
You won't be able to get the kind of diving we do anywhere else for as cheap. We strive to make diving as accessible as possible for the lowest costs we can (you'll probably find our kit hire rates to be quite reasonable). Diving kit is designed to keep you safe (and warm) so hiring a drysuit can get a little pricey over multiple trips so we suggest to keen members to get their own second hand fairly soon. But fear not! this is only normally £50-200 and can last you a couple of years if treated right.
No, sorry. Theres no need to be an Olympic swimmer but the first qualification (Ocean Diver) requires you to be able to swim competently. We have quite a bit of content to cover during the course so time constraints unfortunately do not allow for us to run swimming classes.
